Norwich, Vermont sits on the Connecticut River opposite Hanover, NH and has a population of around 3,800 residents. Most of Norwich residents work outside of the town at Dartmouth College, Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and a multitude of other companies spread throughout the Upper Valley.
Norwich has its own elementary school, K-6, then the students move to the Hanover, NH school system for middle and high school as part of the Dresden School District, the first interstate school district in the nation.
Norwich is the home of The Montshire Museum of Science (a fabulous spot for the whole family to explore), King Arthur Flour Company and numerous smaller organizations, entrepreneurship's, law firms, The Norwich Inn and Dan & Whit's General Store (a must see).
Norwich was the home to the countries first private military academy which was granted a charter by Vermont to become Norwich University. In 1866 Norwich University relocated to Northfield, Vermont leaving behind a stunning parade ground (now the town green), and many lovely buildings that became the town school and private residences.
