Sharon, Vermont, known in past years for farming and mills, is located along the White River and was the birthplace of Joseph Smith Jr., founder and prophet for the Latter Day Saint movement. Today there is a year round population of 1,411.
Sharon is home to two schools; Sharon Elementary School educating grades pre K - 6th, and The Sharon Academy, a private middle and high school. Public high school choices include South Royalton, Hartford and Hanover, NH to name a few.
