A British Olympic rower, Rowan shares her knowledge and skill coaching with the Upper Valley Rowing Foundation. Rowan represented Great Britain between 1997 and 2001, competing in the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games. Her favorite regatta was Women’s Henley in Henley-on-Thames, where she won the open single sculls in 1994 and 1997. Rowan teaches indoor rowing during the winter in the tanks through the Dartmouth College FLIP program, and coaches various programs through Upper Valley Rowing in the warmer months, including the men’s competitive group and a summer sculling group.
Although Rowan grew up in London, she is happy to have lots of family close by. Her parents live in Lyme, where her father is a member of the Lyme board of selectmen and her mother a jeweler; and her aunt lives in Hanover where she re-opened the Trumbull House Bed and Breakfast in 1995.
